Festival City 10k

Posted: October 2, 2011 in Running

Well today I ran my last tune up race before the Detroit Marathon, the Festival City 10k in Stratford. First thing, it was really cold and it was really windy, making for a tough day. The race started at 10:15 and I was up front early the men’s field wasn’t that deep, and by 2.5k I was on my own. There were a few tough hills and the wind was rough especially at the 6k mark, I went through 5k in about 15:35 and 8k in 25:24. Running alone for most of the race was tough with the conditions, but I felt relaxed and it was a good test for the marathon where I might be running on my own at some point. I finished 1st in 31:51.
